Camperships & discounts

Camp is for you.

All of our programs have sliding scale fees to help make them more financially accessible for everyone. Even so, we know that our program fees can still be out of reach for many families. Unirondack is committed to making sure camp is available for all campers and there are several ways to offset the cost of camp for those who need it. If cost of camp is prohibitive for you, let’s talk about how we can help.

Did you know you can come to camp for FREE just by referring new campers?

Refer-A-Friend Discount

For week-long sessions (youth summer camp, Sleepaway Camp for Grown-Ups, Family Camp, and week-long youth wilderness trips):

Refer 1 new camper, get $200 off a week-long session.
Refer 2 new campers, get $400 off a week-long session.
Refer 3 new campers, get a FREE week of camp.

For all other adult and intergenerational programs:

Bring 1 new friend, get 50% off.
Bring 2 new friends, attend the program for FREE.

To refer a friend, simply email us ([email protected]) with your name and/or the name of your youth camper, and the name of the camper(s) you referred. After both you and the new camper(s) are registered, we’ll apply the discounts.

Discount transferrable to any program listed at the same or a lower price than the program for which the newly referred camper(s) are registered. Can only be transferred to programs within the current fiscal year (Nov-Oct). Newly referred campers may not share a primary caregiver with the referring camper (ie. siblings or members of the same household). Unirondack reserves the right to revoke the discount if the referred camper(s) cancel their registrations.

Camperships

We have a robust scholarship program and strongly recommend campers and families who are having trouble covering the cost of camp apply. The application takes only a few minutes to complete and is then reviewed by a team of board members. Awards are typically announced by April 15.

Camperships are awarded in two rounds:

The due date for round one is February 1, 2026, and awards will be announced by March 1, 2026.

The due date for round two is May 1, 2026, and awards will be announced by June 1, 2026.

Any applications that come in after May 1 will still be considered and any remaining available funds will be awarded on a rolling basis. Please note that the earlier we hear from you, the more funds are likely to be available!

REGISTERING: If you are applying for a campership and need to register without paying the deposit, use the discount code 2026CAMPERSHIPS to complete your registration while your campership application is being processed.

Native or Indigenous Campers

Camp Unirondack is committed to anti-colonial justice. That is why Unirondack is free for Indigenous campers.

We recognize that the Haudenosaunee land that we occupy does not belong to us. We recognize that, while it may not be possible to fully reconcile that fact, there are many things that we can do right now to address the harms of ongoing colonial violence in our communities.

During our time as occupants here, we strive to be good stewards and caretakers of the land so that it may be in good health for future generations. We use our platform as educators to teach our campers and staff about the painful realities of colonial history in North America, and the ongoing struggles of Indigenous peoples today. We hope to inspire a generation of youth who will fight back against colonial injustice in their communities.

We believe that decolonization is not about reconciling our differences – it is about returning what is not rightfully ours, and we believe that it is every Indigenous person’s right to have access to their ancestral lands. That is why Unirondack welcomes all self-identifying Indigenous youth and adults to use this space and attend our programs without paying any fees. Proof of tribal affiliation is not required to qualify for this discount.

This policy is one small step toward the repatriation of Indigenous lands, and we hope that many more will follow in the years to come. What Unirondack has to offer would not be possible without the stolen land we occupy, and we feel it would be against our values to charge Indigenous people to be here. We also challenge other organizations and facilities whose product or offerings are as connected to land use as summer camp's are to consider something similar in your work.

While we plan to increase these offerings in the future, we are currently able to offer this to cover 2 youth registrations per session for a total of 16 summer weeks at a first-come, first-serve basis. There is not currently a limit on Spring/Fall programs for adults and families. For more information on how to register your camper through this offer, email [email protected].

Work Exchange

On occasion we do exchange volunteer work for a discount in camper registration. The skills you bring do not need to be physical work or on-site, and can include remote or consultation work. Previous work exchange offerings have included helping out in the kitchen or on crew, training for staff, graphic design, and marketing and promotions. If work exchange is something you are interested in, please email us at [email protected].
