About Family Camp:
The warm, welcoming atmosphere of Family Camp creates a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to explore and play together. Whether canoeing on Beaver Lake, hiking in the woods, lounging in our lodge, communing at our campfire circle, or enjoying delicious meals together, this week offers a chance to spend time with family members and to make new friends. In addition to the programming offered by our special guests, our Summer staff will offer children and adults an array of workshops and activities.
Our counseling staff offers children and adults an array of small and large group activities, including arts and crafts, music, dance, theater, swimming, and new and old games. Every afternoon there is an optional excursion to experience the natural beauty of the Adirondacks and Wednesday afternoon we all visit Whitaker Park, a local natural wonder that has a gorge and a huge athletic field and playground adjacent to farmland.
In the safety of our intentional community, campers have a chance to try Unirondack’s many stimulating and enjoyable workshops and activities.
In addition, we welcome special guests to family camp to enrich the program. We will have more guests to announce as the summer get’s closer but for now we are happy to announce Alan Rosenberg will be joining us to provide theatre programming!
Alan Rosenberg: Alan has been bringing theatre programming to Unirondack for more than 15 years, and is excited to attend Family Camp for the first time with an actual family! In the off season, Alan teaches and directs high school theatre in Baltimore City. This year Family Campers of all ages are invited to come together and create a piece of theatre to perform at the end of the week! Whether you want to act on stage, work behind the scenes, write or play music, or build props or costumes, there’s a role for everyone in Family Camp Theatre!
